Maybe try and get one of those CD/DVD cleaner systems you can get at places like walmart or something, i’ve heard of discs damaging DVD players because you can mess up the laser inside, but for most of them using a DVD cleaner system (its basically a special DVD you put inside your system that cleans the laser) will do the trick.
